Based on an original from Ovansjö, Gästrikland – 1830-1840

A small blue cloth from Ovansjö, with beige, black yellow and pink. Perfect as a book cloth, napkin or children's neckerchief. Now available in two different fabric qualities

  • PRODUCT INFORMATION

    A smaller coth from Ovansjö. Suitable for a book cloth (from my own experience a perfect fit to wrap your mobile phone in instead of a psalm book), but also works as a handkerchief or possibly a children's neckerchief. The size of the cloth is 38×36 cm incl. 1 cm seam allowance all around. Now available in two different fabric qualities, see more below under "information". 

    The fabric is part of a collection of clothing items from Gammelgården in Storviksbacken in Storvik, Ovansjö. The items of clothing were found in the attic upstairs in the said house in the early 1990s, in connection with the demolition of the house. Parts of the farm are from the 17th century and the textiles are from the entire 19th century. In the house lived the tailor Anders Andersson-Wikblom and his wife Anna Zakrisdotter, called Hat-Anna, who are probably the ones who used the clothes.

    Airy, delicate cotton fabric with a soft drape. This is a slightly transparent fabric with a very smooth surface that is best suited for neckerchiefs and possibly aprons. Not as well suited to clothing unless these are to be very thin.

    Cretonne - 121 g

    Slightly stiffer cotton fabric with a slightly stiffer drape. Smooth but with slightly coarser threads than the thinner fabric, not transparent. The fabric is best suited for bodices other items of clothing and for neckerchiefs if you want these a little stiffer.

    100% cotton, plain-weave
    Printing: Digital printing with OEKO-TEX certified (water-based) inks. NOTE! Cotton is a natural material that can have small loose fibers in the weave that lie on top of the fabric - therefore small white dots may appear on the finished product. In this case, these are very small and few in number as the fabric is of even, fine quality. This can happen on basically all natural materials with this printing technique. 
    Production time:     3-8 working days (When ordering 3 mens neckerchiefs or more, or in combination with other products)
    Production: Printed by CottonBee in Płock, Poland. Produced only to order. No water and minimal electricity and raw materials are used in production. The print is fixed with heat, not chemicals.
    Washing instructions: Hand wash only in cold water to avoid shrinkage – cotton is a natural material that can shrink significantly in hot water (approx. 2%). Do not use detergents with bleach. Products should be washed inside out if possible. It is advisable to sew the edges of your fabric before the first wash, to ensure that the edges do not fray.

    ATTENTION! A few cloths are in stock and sent with Postnord - unlike the square neckerchiefs, these are already cut out and ready to sew. If you order more than 2 cloths at the same time or in combination with other products, these will be sent directly from the printer 

    If you have ordered neckerchiefs or fabric before April 2026 these have been printed on Cretonne - 121g, except for Blue Clover neckerchief which is printed on Voile - 77g.

  • DELIVERY

    Delivery time: Your neckerchief will be sent within 3 business days. The neckerchief is sent from Järbo and takes about 1-3 weekdays.
    When ordering 2 or more cloths or in combination with other products these will be ordered from the printing house within 3 business days. After that, production takes about 3-8 days. The products are shipped directly from the printing house in Poland and takes about 3-5 business days.

    Shipping: 79 SEK within Sweden, shipped via Postnord. For orders of 2 or other products these are shipped directly from the printer with UPS or FedEx, 159 SEK to Sweden. For shipping to other countries shipping is calculated at checkout
